Revheads: A Lifelong Passion for Cars Brought to Life in a New Store

A Journey of Legacy and Passion

Revheads, a brand that recently came to life as a brick-and-mortar store in 2023, is more than just a business; it’s the culmination of decades of passion for cars and the memories of a father’s teachings. Although the doors just opened, the concept behind Revheads dates back to the mid-1980s, when my world revolved around two things: cars and my dad, lovingly called “Pops.” My father’s influence laid the foundation for a journey that shaped my career and led to the creation of Revheads.

A Father’s Lessons and the Spark of a Passion

Growing up, I spent countless hours in the garage with Pops, watching him work on cars. He wasn’t just fixing them—he was bringing them to life. Every weekend, I’d watch him tinker with engines, fine-tune carburetors, and piece together old vehicles. Pops had a knack for transforming lifeless metal into working machines, and I marveled at his skill. It wasn’t long before he began to pass that knowledge on to me.

Whenever we drove around town, Pops would point out cars on the road and ask, “Boy, can you tell me what kind of ride that is?” Over time, I learned to distinguish different makes, models, and years, just by looking at them. Those drives and his challenges weren’t just casual pastimes; they were lessons, ones that would shape my love for cars.

The Old Mazda Truck

One memory stands out as the true beginning of my journey into the world of cars. When I was almost 16, Pops handed me the keys to an old Mazda truck that had been sitting unused in the garage. “Boy, if you can get that truck running, it’s yours,” he said with a grin. That was all the motivation I needed. With Pops’ guidance, I scoured junkyards for parts, spent hours under the hood, and eventually got that truck up and running. This experience was more than just fixing a vehicle—it was my first taste of what would become a lifelong passion.

The Road to a New Beginning: From Construction to Classic Cars

As I grew older, I continued working with my hands, initially following a path in the construction industry as an electrician. I spent over 18 years in the field, appreciating the sense of accomplishment that came with a hard day’s work. Pops and I always remained close, sharing stories and spending time together whenever possible. But in December 2016, my world shifted when he passed away unexpectedly.

Without Pops, life felt empty, and even my career started to feel less fulfilling. I knew something had to change. In 2018, my wife and I made the bold decision to leave St. Louis and relocate to Las Vegas, searching for a fresh start. As I searched for construction jobs, my thoughts kept returning to my love of cars, and I began considering a career change to something more aligned with my passion.

Stepping into the World of Car Sales

Not long after arriving in Las Vegas, I stumbled upon an opportunity at the world’s largest classic car consignment dealership. Despite having no formal experience in sales, I decided to take a chance and apply. To my surprise, they saw potential in me, and I landed the job. Working in the showroom, surrounded by classic cars, reignited the spark I had felt in Pops’ garage all those years ago.

Six months later, I was offered a transfer back to St. Louis to work at the company’s corporate location. Returning home was a welcome change, and soon after, I was promoted to Showroom Manager. Under my leadership, the dealership saw profits soar, bringing in over $100,000 monthly. However, despite the success, I found myself at odds with management, as they seemed more interested in profits than in treating customers with respect. I knew then that it was time to move on and pursue something different.

Honoring Pops’ Legacy

Leaving that dealership was a pivotal moment. I was finally ready to take the leap and build something of my own—a business that truly aligned with my values. In 2023, Revheads was born, a tribute to Pops and a reflection of our shared love for cars. Every detail of Revheads embodies the lessons Pops taught me, from his meticulous attention to detail to his commitment to doing things right.

At Revheads, we’re not just selling cars; we’re sharing a lifestyle, a piece of history, and a passion for the open road. Each car that comes through our doors is a reminder of the times spent with Pops, the countless hours we spent working on cars together, and the thrill of bringing an old vehicle back to life.

Building a Community Around a Shared Love for Cars

Revheads isn’t just a business; it’s a community, a place where car enthusiasts can come together to celebrate their love for classic and performance vehicles. We’re building a space where people can find high-quality vehicles, share their stories, and make memories—much like the ones I made with Pops.

Our vision extends beyond selling cars. We aim to host events, collaborate with other car enthusiasts, and offer services that make Revheads a destination for anyone passionate about cars. From car meets to restoration workshops, we want to create a hub for the car community, a place where people can learn, grow, and share in the excitement of automotive culture.

Carrying Forward a Legacy

Revheads is the realization of a dream born in my father’s garage. It’s a tribute to Pops, to his wisdom, and to the countless hours we spent working side by side. As we continue to grow, I’m honored to carry his legacy forward, sharing our love for cars with others who feel the same passion.

In every car we restore, every customer we help, and every story we share, I’m reminded of Pops’ words: “Boy, look at that badass ride.” At Revheads, I’m proud to carry on that tradition, one car at a time, for the generations to come.
